Backstories:

Captain Philbert Aloe:

Watsonian: Captain Philbert Aloe is a celebrated figure in the army and is engaged to the wealthy heiress Lady Phernanda de Crassula.
Doylist: I needed a plant for my dorm so I got him from Walmart for five dollars.

Lady Phernanda de Crassula:

Watsonian: Grew up in wealth and recently recieved a great fortune from her late uncle Count Phabian Fittonia. Engaged to Captain Philbert Aloe.
Doylist: Impulse buy from Walmart a few days after I got Philbert.

Count Phabian Fittonia:

Watsonian: Recently deceased from a terrible bought of consumption as he was always a bit frail (or at least that's what the official reports say; trust me it has nothing at all to do with what's in Baron Phredrick Epipremnum's cellar). Very rich.
Doylist: Impulse buy from the little local plant store. Died over winter break because I couldn't water him in time.

Baron Phredrick Epipremnum:

Watsonian: A wealthy baron, also celebrated for his efforts in the as-yet-unnamed war that occurred a few years ago. Friend of Captain Philbert Aloe. Don't ask what he's got hidden in his cellar; it's nothing and none of your business anyway.
Doylist: Got for free at a plant giveaway by one of the clubs at my college. He came in a tiny plastic cup that I had to punch holes into myself.

Phlorence:

Watsonian: Phernanda's personal maid, very sweet and still in her teens. She will; however, still happily give you all the gossip for a bit of loose change.
Doylist: Another impulse buy from the local plant store (with the last of the money I had at the time haha).

Sir Phlorian Monstera:

Watsonian: A handsome foreigner who aided in the war and thus became friends with all in high society (though they are all secretly jealous of his effortless looks).
Doylist: I was so shocked that Walmart had Thai Constellation monsteras for as low as thirty dollars so of course I had to get one.

Lady Phranchesca:

Watsonian: Phernanda's sister who has been living in Italy or something ever since she was a small child. Very flamboyant.
Doylist: Impulse buy again (but from Home Depot this time).

Benadetto:

Watsonian: Captain Phredrick Aloe's estranged cousin, newly arrived from studying abroad; charming but has a very bad aura.
Doylist: Bought from a sale on campus. I noticed something sticky on his leaves a little while later and immediately quarantined him, which was a good call because a few days later he had a full-blown scale infestation that could have been very bad for my other plants. (His name, by the way, breaks from the scheme because his lore is very reminiscent of Benadetto from The Count of Monte Cristo)

Baroness Phrancine Epipremnum:

Watsonian: Baron Phredrick Epipremnum's sister who also went abroad to study. Normally practical but fell head-over-heels for Benadetto's charms and came back with him recently to the dismay of everyone.
Doylist: Came from the same sale as Benadetto and therefore also had to be quarantined with him despite having no obvious signs yet even weeks later of any pest problems.
